- 12:00 AM
This annual Program is provided at no-charge to municipal residents. Similar to the spring program, residents will need to place their large items directly on the front street by the curb, the evening before their scheduled pick up as identified below. They are asked not to place items on the grass or lawn, but rather directly on the street as it is easier for Beaver Municipal Solutions staff to clean up any broken materials. Please ensure residents place all items at least 3 feet (1 meter) from parked vehicles.
The fall municipal collection schedule is as follows:
Tuesday, October 1 – Town of Tofield
Thursday, October 10 – Village of Holden
Thursday, October 17 –Hamlet of Bruce
Thursday, October 24 – Village of Ryley
Monday, October 28 – Town of Viking
If a resident’s large items have not been picked up three days after their scheduled pick up date, please call our office at 780.663.2038, extension 102.
For Beaver County rural residents, large items can be taken to the transfer stations as per the following schedule:
Saturday, October 5 – Tofield Transfer Station
Friday, October 18 – Kinsella Transfer Station
∗ Please note that Lindbrook and Viking Transfer Stations now accept large items year round.
Fridges, freezers and water coolers are acceptable, however there is a $25 charge for Freon removal. As in the past, urban residents can pay for the Freon removal at either the local Town/Village office or at the Beaver Municipal Solutions Administration office located at the landfill. Once payment has been made, a sticker will be provided that needs to be placed on either the front or side of the appliance.
Rural residents can pay for their Freon removal in advance at the Administration office at the landfill or directly at one of the transfer stations on the scheduled large item day. Lindbrook and Viking Transfer Stations accept Freon-containing appliances year round for the same $25 charge.
• White goods (stove, washing machine, etc.) and appliances
• Propane tanks
Unacceptable Items to set out for Large Item Pick Up:
• Grass clippings, trees, tree branches
• Large chunks of cement/concrete
• Bags of household garbage
• Small items that would fit in the neighbourhood waste bin
• Electronic waste
These unacceptable items, except chunks of concrete, can be taken to the Ryley landfill or any Transfer Station anytime. Please note: cement and concrete will only be accepted at the Ryley landfill site.
We ask for your support with this free bi-annual Program. Please share the information on the attached flyer with your residents. If at all possible, it would be helpful to keep on schedule if your Town/Village staff could do a quick check along the streets early in the morning the day of your scheduled pick up and move items to the street if needed.
If you have any questions regarding this program, please call our offices at 780.663.2038, extension 102.
